under the sea

I did a pencil sketch and used watercolors. I outlined the design in marker, tore the edges of the cardstock, and antiqued it with distressing ink...fun. I left some areas "un-antiqued" to highlight them.

Here's this week's post for illustration friday...monster. I'm not sure who's more scared/surprised...

feet

I thought outside the box on this one. The first thing that came to mind was my grandma and grandpa's old clawfoot tub. This was a pencil sketch that I scanned and then I "colored" it like a coloring book page with adobe. I went back and traced the outlines so they would show up and better define the sketch. Hmm...it looks so relaxing...I might just have to take a bubble bath...

Tea

I was never happy with my first "tea" submission to illustration friday. I more or less rushed through a project because I was so excited to get something up on the site. Now, I've had more time and have gone back and did the "tea" assignment over again. I like this version better. I did this in the same manner as "under the sea". I did a pencil drawing, outlined in marker, watercolored it, and then antiqued it with distressing ink in "tea dye" color.
